Give and Give

Hey Love's,

I'm back! I have had so many new experiences over the last couple of months that I haven't even shared with you all yet. I am excited about the new things that I can become involved with and where these things can lead, I don't know what to do with myself. I have been volunteering my time with a couple of different organizations that are in the entertainment and service industry's. The first one I attended was the Black Bride Show. It was fabulous even though it rained and the turn out was slow. I got to sign people in and get them registered to win prizes and give out goody bags to all the brides. I took a few pictures but really learned a lot about how planning, weddings, events, really work and how they are put together. I feel in love with doing things like this from this event. The next event I did was a networking mixer. It was so fun and informative at the same time. I met so many people and got to learn about their story and their businesses. This event really help me mold my dreams and create the first step to my master plan. Volunteering was always something that I was forced to do for credit in school, because of my mother, or my church was doing something. Now that I am an adult and can go and do what I please, I find the reward of volunteering even more great now then ever before. I enjoy helping others and being connected to others that are moving toward something great. I want to do as much for others as I can and teach my Baby Love about the gift of giving. Over the next few months I will be doing more work like this so that I can build my goal of making this my profession and meet some great souls in the process. What other passions have you expressed through volunteering?

Scales of Life

Hello Loves,

It's been a few days but then there is life! I know everyone has had days when they just don't feel like doing anything and end up having to do a bit of everything. Having a life, career, child, and even a significant other can cause extra running around when you have one of those 'I wanna rest all day, days'. I brought this up because everyday will not be bright and sunny and full of happy. I thought that once I have my Baby Love, all the days we would spend together would be rainbows and glitter poo. I thought that because I am so in love with my man and he is so in love with me that everyday would be romance and endless laughter. I was in complete shock the first time I felt like my Baby Love was actually getting on my nerves. I could not imagine myself not wanting to look at the person I love even more each day that is only in my life because I love them being there. This started an epiphany but not really. It was kind of like a memory that I relived and needed to at that moment to help me reach the new information that I have discovered inside myself.
Loving another person does not mean you stop loving yourself. It means you have given yourself permission to love yourself even harder. Keeping a relationship fresh and fun is great but making sure that you are the best you all the time, in or out of a relationship, starts with the relationship you have with yourself. I had a hard time loving myself and choose to love others more to compensate for this. THIS WILL NOT WORK! Others know or will find out that you are pretending. They will become users. Not intentionally all the time, but once the secret is out, it can go two ways. The first way is they will use you! The second is they will ask you or help you find out why you don't love yourself. It could be because of a number of things but a true friend will help or ask, while a user will do just that; use you!
My life as well as everyone living, will be full of ups, downs, good relationships and horrible relationships, but the key to having love and returning love is to first love the relationship you have with yourself! Pick your battles and always be your biggest fan, regardless if you are the career focused individual, parent, and or the spouse. Live is balance and the scale should stay in your favor. Til next time Loves!!

Legal?

Hello Loves,

It's been a few days since I have made any posts but I am not giving up, just doing more research! Since my last posts a lot has been going on. I enjoyed that weekend getaway with my Mama Love and my Baby Love to visit my Brother Love in Tennessee. Baby Love did great with the ride and her tablet and the hundreds of toys that lined the back seat. The celebration was really nice! On to business in Georgia this week. This week there was a day when the temperature was 71 degrees then the next day the temperature was 42 degrees. What is going on? All this week the temperature has been bouncing up and down from day to day and from hour to hour. Many people are making comments about the last days and the world coming to an end in the near future. I don't know what to make of these comments as of right now because I am still dealing with having the sweats one minute and shivering the next. Along with the weather being bi-polar, there was a crazy display at the capital this week as well. People got together that represent this despicable group called the K.K.K. and decided to hold a demonstration in from of the state capital in downtown Atlanta, Georgia. Other people that wanted to know what was going on, tried to watch from across the street of the same building and were asked to leave or be arrested for disturbing the peace. The "K.K.K." had a permit to be in front of the capital and the spectators did not. How do you feel about this? Why wasn't this information or demonstration shared with the public on the news? How can the K.K.K. get a permit for anything in front of the capital building with police to protect them?
Before I get to far into the questions! I need to tell you about the good news, well to me it's good news for the entire state of Georgia. The house passed the bill to legalize medical marijuana this week and the vote was so slanted for this bill to pass, I think the next step will be easy to get passed as well. I have been doing my own personal research about the difference of areas where marijuana has been made legal for the state and the crime rate has gone down, unemployment has dropped, and the building of new businesses has increased. I think legalizing medical marijuana in Georgia will help in these areas as well. Who doesn't like lower crime rates and less unemployed people!? I will keep you updated about the progress and the research that I continue to do on this matter. Feel free to add your opinion, or information you may have about the pros and cons of this and any other matter! Until next time!

Dinner #chickenpotatobake

Hello Loves,

I made what I call "last minute, gotta give baby a bath, finish homework, wash hair, and clean the living room and bathrooms before 9". I love this dish because you can just cut it up, add what you feel, and let it go. Chicken and potato bake is all that it says. Chicken breast, chicken drums, chicken thighs, chicken whatever you have ready to cook and some potatoes, and any other vegetable you feel like that day. I made mine with chicken wings and drumsticks with potatoes and onions. I baked the mixture along with spices and a little oil for about 40 minutes at 375 degrees. I think it came out pretty good! You can add bell peppers, carrots, mushrooms, or any other vegetable you like. What is your favorite vegetable?

Weekend Getaway! #weekend

Hello Loves,

Is everyone happy about this good weather for a hot second? I for one am very happy that it's not extremely cold and not extremely hot. Taking my daughter outside is rare when the weather is not up to par. Now that we are having this break in the weather and my brother has a birthday coming up, these are great reasons for a weekend getaway. Taking trips with a toddler can be fun or it could make you want to go on another vacation. Bringing plenty of snacks, toys, and favorite blankets are a few ways to keep them occupied long enough to not have to stop every 30 minutes when traveling. My daughter is in the process of potty training and putting a pull up on her is not an option at this stage so packing enough clothes for a month is probably going to be necessary for this trip. I am super excited and can't wait for the adventures that we get to share with Unc and Baby Love. Where would you go for a weekend getaway? How do you keep your little loves occupied when traveling?

Baby Love #love

Hello Loves,

Let me first say that I love my family and friends but I am so in love with my daughter. God truly blessed me when she started to grow in my belly. The first few months she was a baby and not very small but small enough to hold and cuddle. I say this because after these first few months, this little lady had been on the go. She started to walk and run and do things that I believe she would not be able to do until she turned 8 or 9. She is truly amazing and I am so happy to be her mother. Now that I have said all the great things, let me tell you what this little diva did. Okay! This little girl is so smart! I have to keep learning to keep up with her. She knows how to trick me into doing things I said I would not. Like give her some more juice or let her eat more candy or let her jump in the bed until three in the am. I am by no means a push over but this little finger that has me wound so tight is getting a bit out of hand. So Loves, what are some parenting tips for your toddler? How do you not fall for the cute faces and cute little voices when you are trying to be strong and consistent?

Black History Month? #blackhistorymonth

Hello Loves,

I have been reading articles about people having mixed feelings about Black History Month. Some say that we should not have a month dedicated to Black History because Black History is apart of American History and should be celebrated all year long. Others say that this is the month dedicated to Black History and we should take this month and teach all that will listen all about Black History in this month especially. I have mixed feelings as well about this subject because I have mixed feelings about "History" all together. I enjoy doing research and learning about things that have happened and could happen in the future but the documentation of history is a scandal, in my opinion. The scandal is all of it! Who wrote it? Who is this history benefiting? Why are we not questioning things in history? I feel now that we are all able to access the marvelous world wide web, we should all do a little research and find out the real truth of our history. I keep saying history and not Black history because I believe everyone is involved in every one's history in some way or another. We should not shade one race, culture, or religion from history, but embrace one another and the things that make us different but the same; human. Human history needs clarity is all I am trying to say and the clarity should not be monopolized by one race, culture, or religion. How do you feel about the situation?
